Nonstop Funny dogs & cats(from YouTube)

Nonstop Funny dogs & cats

Okay don't blame you if you don't watch this, it is 35 mins long but it has some great stuff in it!
I was only going to skip through it but couldn't do it! just had to watch it!!
turned speakers up so cats could look around (so I could laugh more) and
there are parts I would love to have the original addresses for.
Would post them separately on different days.
There are a few clips that bring up some very interesting
facts about animals.

Just an book and PC update ;)

Hi all will be doing research on company UPC#s to see what more I can find.  Will be my weekend project.

Today I got my new computer! Yay!!!  It is fast and has 1 TB hard drive, 6 GB ram but added 8 GB stick for increased speed. Also has Windows 8, seems to be okay, was a little worried about the new windows but seems to be user friendly.  Have made all necessary disks and back ups and registered everything.  All I have left to do is finish installing printer, camera etc software.  Oh by the way looks great and my new monitor, which is perfect for this one.  And they match!  LOL

So tomorrow will be setting up my aunt's MP3 for her. Probably switch this new keyboard back to my old one, this new one seems a bit small.  Tomorrow night will let Foxy post, or Little Boy if he can work up the nerve, lol.

Next week only working 4 hours each day so yipee more time for reading /writing blogs and reading books (although I read everyday, wish I could read more) and a little time to work on a special project for the Oz Altered Celebration.  Okay just switched keyboards, this is a lot better, can type faster with less mistakes!

Since it is faster means no more waiting for pages to load while doing research, was amazed how fast it is compared to my laptop, which was not that bad, until it decided it wanted to act funny.

For the readers out there I bought some more books, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (I know, but I have never read it before) it came with another copy of the Hobbit, (paper back- all four books $20.00) which is okay since the one I am reading is on Kobo.

I also bought Secret of the Dragon (hardcover also on sale for $2.00) by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

Plus found a new blog today through Book Blogs called Midnight Thrillers where I saw a book review on The Dead of Winter By Jack Night (I bought this one from Kobo $3.96) which I also bought, this is one of the next ones I intend to read, for the New Authors Challenge 2013.

I swear some of the best books I have read I bought on sale, how weird is that?  Also a great way to read new authors and different styles of writing.

Do any of you remember a series a while ago called Flash Forward, I believe, wasn't a big hit, but I read the book, Flash Forward by Robert J Sawyer about a year before (one of my $2.00 ones) and the book was fantastic!  If you like Sci-fi you would like the concept of this book.  God I love imagination. ;~)

Okay I have to go for now but I will be back!

Okay more on upc codes- country

Okay this is what I found for upc codes- country:

This is what I found at which is the same here at this site Bar Code 1.  There is more information at both these sites, also check out eHow Money.

EAN Country CodesThe first two or three digits of an EAN-13 barcode identify the country in which the manufacturer's identification code was assigned.  They do not necessarily indicate the country in which the goods were manufactured.   Many countries have EAN coding authorities which regulate the use of retail barcodes. For names, addresses, and telephone numbers, click here to view our list of Standards Organizations.  In the United States the UPC-A and UPC-E symbologies are used for marking retail products; the administering authority is the Uniform Code Council in Dayton, Ohio (tel. 937-435-3870).

I keep finding this warning on the sites I have checked!

Tips & Warnings

  • The country of origin indicated in barcodes may not be the same country where a product was manufactured. It is the country where the company that produces the product is headquartered. A company located in Switzerland could have manufacturing sites in India, China or other country. A more reliable method for finding the country in which a product was manufactured is to look for a "made in" label on the product packaging.

Reading bar-codes, interesting!!!!

Saw this on Faceebook had to share (it is from Useful info):

An Information Must share

HOW TO READ BAR CODES...(everyone must know)

With all the food and pet products now coming from China, it is best to make sure you read label at the supermarket and especially when buying food products. Many products no longer show where they were made, only give where the distributor is located. The whole world is concerned about China-made "black-hearted goods".

Can you differentiate which one is made in Taiwan or China ? The world is also concerned about GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) foods; steroid fed animals (ex: 45 days old broiler chicken).

It is important to read the bar code to track its origin. How to read Bar Codes....interesting !

If the first 3 digits of the bar code are 690, 691 or 692, the product is MADE IN CHINA.
471 is Made in Taiwan .
If the first 3 digits of the bar code are 00-09 then it's made or sourced in USA.

This is our right to know, but the government and related departments never educate the public, therefore we have to RESCUE ourselves. Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products "MADE IN CHINA", so they don't show from which country it is made. However, you may now refer to the barcode -

remember if the first 3 digits are:
890......MADE IN INDIA
690, 691, 692 ... then it is MADE IN CHINA
00 - 09 ... USA and CANADA
30 - 37 ... FRANCE
40 - 44 ... GERMANY
471 ........ Taiwan
49 .......... JAPAN
50 .......... UK

Share it!
Hope you found this enlightening!!

Charity Ball for Jack

I saw a story on the news, CHCH Hamilton, that I would like to share.

It is about a little boy, 7 months old, don't worry it is a good story.

Before he was born it was discovered he had Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) called Transposition of the Great Arteries (d-TGA).  (the "great" arteries are reversed in their origins from the heart, with the aorta connected to the right ventricle, and the pulmonary artery connected to the left ventricle-exactly the opposite of the normal heart's anatomy)  Here is the address to the article I found on-line:

Gives Back Fundraiser in Honour of Jack White

When he was born he had to have to surgery's to correct this problem.  Happy to say that to date all has worked out and he is a normal 7 month old baby.  Everything seems to be great, his heart is normal and it looks like all that remains are the scars from the surgery.  I am so happy for him and his parents plus 2 older brothers.

Here is the address for the video I saw on CHCH news:  The heart of a fighter I do not know how to post the video's from this site.

The reason I put this here is two fold, one to share this good news that a child has been saved and two that there is a Charity Ball called Jack Gives Back in Hamilton at the Renaissance Hall on February 9, 2013.   Here are the details:

More Kitties from the Adoption Centre

Some more beautiful cats for the Adoption Centre.
Here is their card with the hours on it.
These cats are at the Adoption Centre at
the Seaway Mall in Welland.

All new ones except for this first cat Violet.
She was adopted in December but did not get along with her family's dog.
Poor kitty!  Now she is looking for a new home without any dogs or other cats.
Her adoption fee has been lowered to $100.00
She needs to be an only cat.
Maybe you know some one who would like her.

Georgie (grey) and Jazzie (black) are brother and sister.
These two pretty kitties have to go together their owner became severely allergic.
They are $185.00 for the pair.

She is a year old, it was hard to get a picture when she woke up wouldn't stay still for the camera! LOL!
Her adoption has a sponsored and only cost $60.00!

Toochi and Stanley (brothers)
Both are neutered already, and are up for adoption because of a family illness.
These 2 have to go together and their fee is $180.00 for both.

He comes all the way from Fort Erie and needs a home where he is the only cat.
His adoption fee is $100.00.

He is also a $110.00, and looking for a loving forever home.

She is going for the regular adoption fee of $140.00.
Did not see any information on her but she was friendly and such a pretty cat, as you can see. ;)

This big beautiful female is 6 yrs old and her human could no longer care for her.
She needs to go to a home where she is the only pet and no children (she was never socialized with other animals or children).

Thank you for looking at these beautiful creatures, please share even if not from the Niagara Region, maybe someone who sees your post will be able to adopt one.
